The Only Public Transportation
The only public transportation for Semyung University students to reach Jecheon city is Bus No. 31. This route connecting Jangnak-dong, Jecheon Station, and major commercial areas determines students’ living areas.
The problem CrossTeen team found was the structural limitation of this route. There was no direct route to Jangnak-dong, requiring transfers. The travel time including transfers took 30-40 minutes.
Route Reform Proposal
CrossTeen team proposed rerouting Bus No. 31 to pass by Jecheon Fire Station and detour to Jangnak-dong. The logic was that travel time would be shortened to 5-10 minutes direct, and expanding living areas would lead to increased foot traffic and local economic revitalization.
Kickboards and Parking Spaces
Team 4 investigated illegal kickboard parking on campus. Complaints like “Don’t park like this” continued on the school community, and situation observations showed kickboards were illegally parked on roads and entrances between 5-6 PM, obstructing pedestrian paths and blocking tactile paving.
The solution was to mark temporary parking zones with tape, set return areas, and introduce penalties. However, team members pointed out that “lack of parking space is a bigger problem.”
Order at the Stop
Team 3 improved the boarding wait environment at the bus stop in front of Jecheon Station. During evening hours for Bus No. 31, order was not maintained and cutting in line was frequent. Without designated bus stop lines, “just lining up randomly” was happening.
Marking waiting lines with footprint stickers and separating waiting areas by route were proposed. This experiment, referencing Seoul village bus boarding cases, shows that small changes can create order.

Remaining Questions
The Bus No. 31 route reform proposal was a logic connecting student living area expansion with local economic revitalization. However, whether this proposal actually produced changes cannot be confirmed from this material alone. Public transportation routes are where the interests of students and local residents intersect. This material leaves a question about what conversation is needed at this intersection.
