What ANCHOR Does
Semyung University’s ANCHOR project aims to develop regional settlement-oriented talent and practical professionals based on regional industry needs. Its core mission is to build a regional innovation ecosystem where universities and regions grow together.
ANCHOR operates through four key strategies.
01 Grow-Up β Learn
The program provides educational opportunities that combine academic knowledge with practical skills. Through diverse education and expert mentoring, students develop their expertise and build practical capabilities in corporate and research settings.

- Corporate-linked field training
- Industry-academy cooperation programs
- Joint research and laboratory practice
- Extracurricular programs, expert lectures, and mentoring
02 Value-Up β Grow
From career design to employment, the program provides systematic support. It helps students grow through employment competency enhancement programs, employment camps, regional programs, and local company employment connections.
The lifelong education system is also expanding. Agricultural education, regional community living enhancement, and industry-linked vocational education systems are being activated, and the Chungbuk “Everyone’s Thinking School” is realizing provincial happiness.
03 Skill-Up β Collaborate
Working with local communities to create greater value. Through living lab projects, regional problem-solving activities, and community networking, the program addresses various challenges faced by the region and supports sustainable development.

04 Cheer-Up β Challenge
Providing diverse support for students’ challenges and achievements. Startup support funds, university and graduate school support, employment programs, and field training backstop students’ growth.
Chungbuk’s 3 Strategic Industries
The ANCHOR project focuses on developing key talent for Chungbuk’s three strategic industries:
- Semiconductors & Secondary Batteries β Based on Chungbuk PRIDE Shared University
- Natural Bio β Jecheon bio map regional settlement-oriented talent
- New Energy Industry β HIT-Bio secondary battery-based leading talent
Campus Living Lab
The ANCHOR project’s flagship program, the Campus Living Lab, is a living lab-style project where students directly discover, investigate, and propose solutions to regional problems.
From the fall semester of 2025 to the spring semester of 2026 alone, 15 projects have been conducted. From cigarette butts to dormitory waste separation and bus stop environmental improvement, students tackle real problems on campus and in the community.
